Description:
Gouache and watercolor was ideal for capturing the rough texture of the bark and the softness of the owl's feathers in the moonlight.
I do lot of hiking by moonlight and often stop to study what may be around me in the shadows. I'm often surprised, and I have see many owls both in Vermont and in California. In my lifetime I have had over 8 personal encounters with great Snowy Owls some of which were only six feet from me and the owls were totally unafraid of my presence! This is an experience that everyone should have at least once in their lifetime!
